Tweezers Classic Tweezers Classic is a high-quality cosmetic tweezers that facilitates comfortable, precise use: The model with slanted tips is ideal for plucking eyebrows, removing facial hairs and epilating unwanted hairs in other body zones. Made completely of high-quality surgical steel, you can disinfect and sterilize Rubis Classic Steel tweezers without a problem. Thanks to its perfect ease of handling, make-up artists like Bobbi Brown and Soul Lee prefer to work with Rubis cosmetic tweezers. Scissors Duck The scissors Duck, specially developed for trimming unwanted hairs in the ears and nose, have rounded tips for gentle insertion into the outer area of your nose or ear without fear of injury. The drop-shaped tips also enable you to widen the nostril slightly so that you can trim the hairs more easily. The ergonomically shaped handle grips offer safety and comfort when trimming hairs. Even after many years, Rubis scissors lose none of their original functionality thanks to their high-quality materials, design and workmanship. Tweezers Needle Nose The Needle Nose is particularly popular with men. The combination of very fine, tapered pointed tips and a broad shaft facilitates the plucking of unmanageable ingrown hairs, for example in the beard area. Splinters and other foreign matter embedded in the skin can also be easily removed. Manufactured by hand and under a magnifying glass in a 45-step process of rustproof glass-blasted surgical stainless steel. Thanks to their excellent design, the tweezers sit extremely well in the hand. Material We always strive to find the best possible solution. That is why we manufacture each implement out of the material that is best suited to its particular function. This is the only way to achieve top-class quality and premium functionality. For our tweezers we use rustproof and acid-proof surgical steel, while our scissors and nail clippers are made of martensitic steel, which enables the blades to be hardened to a high degree. Martensitic steel is also acid-proof and rust-resistant. We deliberately avoid nickel or chrome plating our implements to rule out any risk of allergic reactions. All products can be disinfected and sterilized. Manufacture Values are important to us. In our products and in the methods we use to produce them. We have been manufacturing in Switzerland for over 60 years. With experienced and skilled employees, many of whom have remained true to our company for years. Very much in the tradition of Swiss precision mechanics, we manufacture precise and elegant products, every detail of which is made to last. All of our manicure implements are made by hand - and, in a final step, tested individually under a magnifying glass. Only products that pass this test receive the “Rubis. Made in Switzerland” seal of quality. Design For us, design isn’t just a matter of form. It is our promise that we do everything possible so that our products retain their convincing shape and perfect function for many years to come. And since it hasn’t gone unnoticed that we take this promise seriously, our tweezers and scissors have been honored internationally with numerous renowned awards for their outstanding design. Simple, bold forms are a feature of all Rubis products – embodying the concept of “less is more”. All Rubis products are designed by Fides Baldesberger

Tips & Tricks

How to pluck your eyebrows

They are neglected far too often - however, well-shaped and groomed eyebrows can have the same effect as a little facelift. They simply make you look better. And they do it naturally. Like a beautiful frame around a well-painted picture, well-defined eyebrows emphasize your good features. They make small eyes look larger and bring out deep-set eyes.

Plucking tips

Don’t rush, take everything one step at a time – you don’t need to do it all at once. The best time to pluck your eyebrows is right after showering. This is when your pores are at their widest and the hairs are easiest to remove. Make sure you have plenty of light and a comfortable work space in front of you where you can sit at ease and rest your elbows on the surface. And you’ll need a mirror. Make the most of this time for yourself, and enjoy doing something for your own well-being.

Always work with the natural shape of your brows. You don’t want different brows, you want beautiful brows.

Trim very long brow hairs before you start plucking. The Rubis baby scissors are perfect for trimming brow hairs safely, carefully and precisely. This will give you a better idea of the natural line of your brows.

Stretch the skin between two fingers and pluck a hair. Always take them one at a time and always pluck in the direction of hair growth.

The three important steps are: pluck it, comb it, check it. If you do this, you won’t make any mistakes.

Don’t be afraid to pluck hairs fast. Just take hold of the hair low down, near the root. Then it won’t break.

Do not pluck from the top edge of your brow. Correcting the line at the bottom of the brow gives a more natural-looking and harmonious result.

To keep the curve of your eyebrows symmetrical over both eyes, always pluck hairs from both brows in turn: left, then right, then left again, and so on.

Make sure that the brow is a little thicker near the bridge of the nose. The brow line should taper as it gets toward the end. For a harmonious overall impression, the inside of the brow should also be thicker than the outside.

After plucking it’s best to apply a soothing skin cream. Creams with chamomile extract are particularly good.

To be on the safe side, pluck your eyebrows the day before you plan to go out! This gives your skin time to calm down.

The right shape

What is the ideal distance between the eyebrows?

A maximum of 1.5 cm is enough. Do not leave too big a gap between the brows – that overemphasizes your nose.

Where should the eyebrow begin?

Ideally, the brow should begin exactly above the inside corner of your eye. You can place a makeup brush or pencil against the side of your nose and up to your eye to provide a reference line. This is where your brow should begin. Use your Rubis tweezers to pluck any hairs on the other side of the line.

How long should the brow be?

Neither too long, nor too short. Again, you can use a makeup brush or pencil to help you determine the perfect length. Make a line between your nostril and the outer corner of your eye with the brush or pencil. Where the line crosses your eyebrow, that’s where the brow should end.

Where should the highest point be?

The brow line should form an arch that rises 3/4 of its length and falls 1/4. If you’re sitting in front of a mirror and want to see where the curve of the brow should reach its highest point above the eye, the best thing to do is draw another reference line (with a brush or pencil), this time starting at the nostril and crossing the middle of the pupil. The highest point is where the line and the brow intersect. Pluck any hairs above that level.

How thick should the eyebrows be?

Your brows should suit your body type. Fine-boned people should opt for a thinner line. If you’re more of an athletic type, your brows can easily be a bit thicker.
