“When we introduced our first cosmetic tweezers onto the market in the 1980s, it was somewhat of a sensation. It was as though someone was finally taking the small, everyday needs of women seriously. Back then, tweezing with imprecise tweezers was often torturous. Up to that point, Rubis had made a name for itself above all with their top-notch watchmaker tweezers, which were used by the renowned Swiss watch manufacturers Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Cartier to insert the rubies - a job that required the utmost precision. It was this high standard of quality which we brought to the area of cosmetics. We already knew from experience what it takes to make a truly good pair of tweezers. And I also knew what women expect from a fine cosmetic tweezers. We thus sought to combine these two aspects in a new form that was perfectly tailored to meet these demands. Today, Rubis products are recognized as icons in tweezers design. You will therefore not only discover your tweezers at your beauty expert’s, but also at completely unexpected places like, for instance, a design museum. However, I consider the most important place to be a different one altogether: the place in your everyday life. Because that is exactly why we have made our tweezers as attractive and practical as they are.”

Use
Rubis Universal Gold is the traditional all round tweezers with fine straight tips. These make it ideal for plucking eyebrows. Made completely of high-quality surgical steel, you can disinfect and sterilize Rubis Classic Steel without a problem. Thanks to its perfect ease of handling, make-up artists like Bobbi Brown and Soul Lee prefer to work with Rubis cosmetic tweezers.
Material
What characterizes a really good pair of tweezers? Three things: The perfect closing of the tips, their precise edges, and an arm tension that, when squeezing the tweezers, offers gentle, flexible resistance. Sensitive qualities that, even with a great deal of experience and expertise, can only be coaxed out of the steel when it is of the highest quality. Which is why compromises are not an option. We therefore only work with top-quality surgical steel that is acid-proof, antimagnetic and rustproof. Thanks to these outstanding material characteristics, our tweezers retain their perfect functionality for many years.
Manufacture
Values are important to us. In our products and in the methods we use to produce them. We have been manufacturing tweezers for over 60 years in Switzerland. With experience and skilled employees, many of who have remained true to our company for several years. Exceptionally reliable and precise cosmetic tweezers are the result of a 45-step process that is very much in the tradition of Swiss precision mechanics. Made by hand - and, in a final step, again tested individually under a magnifying glass. Only tweezers that pass this test receive the seal of quality “Rubis. Made in Switzerland.“

We want the small things that accompany you daily to also be pleasurable, because they are attractive and practical, perfectly fulfill their function, are durable and lose nothing of their fine quality, even after many years.

They are neglected far too often - however, well-shaped and groomed eyebrows can have the same effect as a little facelift. They simply make you look better. And they do it naturally. Like a beautiful frame around a well-painted picture, well-defined eyebrows emphasize your good features. They make small eyes look larger and bring out deep-set eyes.
Plucking tips
Don’t rush, take everything one step at a time – you don’t need to do it all at once. The best time to pluck your eyebrows is right after showering. This is when your pores are at their widest and the hairs are easiest to remove. Make sure you have plenty of light and a comfortable work space in front of you where you can sit at ease and rest your elbows on the surface. And you’ll need a mirror. Make the most of this time for yourself, and enjoy doing something for your own well-being.
The right shape
What is the ideal distance between the eyebrows?
A maximum of 1.5 cm is enough. Do not leave too big a gap between the brows – that overemphasizes your nose.
Where should the eyebrow begin?
Ideally, the brow should begin exactly above the inside corner of your eye. You can place a makeup brush or pencil against the side of your nose and up to your eye to provide a reference line. This is where your brow should begin. Use your Rubis tweezers to pluck any hairs on the other side of the line.
How long should the brow be?
Neither too long, nor too short. Again, you can use a makeup brush or pencil to help you determine the perfect length. Make a line between your nostril and the outer corner of your eye with the brush or pencil. Where the line crosses your eyebrow, that’s where the brow should end.
Where should the highest point be?
The brow line should form an arch that rises 3/4 of its length and falls 1/4. If you’re sitting in front of a mirror and want to see where the curve of the brow should reach its highest point above the eye, the best thing to do is draw another reference line (with a brush or pencil), this time starting at the nostril and crossing the middle of the pupil. The highest point is where the line and the brow intersect. Pluck any hairs above that level.
How thick should the eyebrows be?
Your brows should suit your body type. Fine-boned people should opt for a thinner line. If you’re more of an athletic type, your brows can easily be a bit thicker.
